SAVERIO TRUGLIA

At the age of 12, Saverio went to sea. He spent several summers on a deep sea fishing boat and rising at 5 o'clock to work 12 hour days on the North Atlantic. In exchange for occasional sailor’s tales, and $15/ day, Saverio worked as a chum-boy and was nicknamed Ziggy for three summers. After stints as bicycle racer and mechanic, Saverio attended art school at Mass Art, Boston.

Because he came of age in the early 90’s--reading about Post Modernism, fascinated by media theory, and living at the crossroads of a New World Order--the obvious tensions between real and fabricated words stirred him. Artists like Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Gregory Crewdson and Gary Winnogrand showed him the unknown possibility of photography.

Saverio is now requested by leading creatives and art buyers when an intellegent sense of humor, concept driven imagery and a polished production are expected. His work has gained a reputation in industry competitions, is commissioned for international advertising campaigns, and music, design, and culture publications.
